District 113 Twinning
Twinning is a voluntary, reciprocal agreement between clubs or districts in different countries.
It actively pursues the goal of LCI :
"To foster and maintain the spirit of mutual understanding among the peoples of the world".
An unprecedented charter
between Paris and Luxembourg,
a twinning in the service of others
Under the sign of solidarity empathy and in the perspective of a deepened cooperation between partners LIONS, a Charter of Twinning has just been signed on May 9, 2022 in the House Robert Schuman in Luxembourg-Clausen between the district 103 IdF Paris and the district 113 Luxembourg.
The charter was signed by the governors and the persons in charge of the respective international relations Nelly Brun and Pierre Ponthus as well as Marc Hemmerling and Nico Bley, in the presence of the rector of the University of Luxembourg Stéphane Pallage.
To intensify not only the exchanges and friendly and fraternal relations between the Lions clubs, but especially to launch innovative and sustainable joint humanitarian initiatives and projects in the priority areas of international Lionism, such as helping the poor, supporting aid programs for people in need or with disabilities, Prioritizing sight and sight restoration in today's highly mobile society, promoting youth cultural exchange and cross-border relations in a European and peaceful spirit - these are the foundations of the bilateral agreement, which is planned and implemented by a permanent steering committee.
The two delegations began this European day with a recreational and cultural walk in the footsteps of Robert Schuman. At noon, they met again in a convivial atmosphere around a typically Luxembourgish menu before planning the next meetings by videoconference and, why not, in person at the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris.
